(Ages 3 - 5 years)
This program is designed to help preschool-age children develop the preliminary coordination and strength necessary to maneuver on skates. By the end of this program, skaters should feel comfortable being on skates, and be prepared to move on to Ice Cats, Learn to Skate, Learn to Skate for Hockey Players or Hockey Development. Ice Mice follows the US Figure Skating Association & USA Hockey guidelines. We incorporate lots of fun and games. Classes are divided by ability, and each child progresses at his or her own rate. It is recommended that your child be at least three years old by the start of class to enroll. (Due to the young age of the children, parent or guardian must remain at the rink for entire class time.)

There are no make-ups due to Ridgefield school snow day cancellations. Knee pads, elbow pads, hockey helmet with face mask & gloves required! The Hockey Shop Pro Shop has all the equipment your need to get started and answer any questions about the equipment you may have.

ICE CATS is designed for the skater who has already completed at least one season of Ice Mice, and is ready to be challenged by a more structured class setting.  Skaters must be able to get up and skate the length of the ice unassisted.  Ice Cats is a transition program from Ice Mice to Learn to Skate , Hockey Learn to Skate and Hockey Development, offering small class setting while further developing skating skills.  Following the USFSA Snow Plow Sam format, students will be grouped by ability and earn merit badges as they master new skills.  Each weekly session will end with a group game.  If there are questions or concerns about placement, please speak with the program director.  Hockey helmet with face mask, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves are required equipment for the Ice Cat participant.

There are no make-ups due to Ridgefield school snow day cancellations.
