Winter Garden History
First built in 1971 as The Ridgefield Skating Center, the facility was completely renovated into Winter Garden in 1997. Ridgefield Youth Hockey has been skating in Ridgefield for over a quarter century! Prior years saw the facility as home to a Ridgefield High School State Championship Hockey team. NHL All-Star Jeremy Roenick practically lived in the rink through his PeeWee years, and All-World Brian Leetch played here as a youth on visiting travel teams, along with NHLer Ian Moran. Ridgefield’s very own Chris Winnes played in the NHL and is a current AHL star.

Today, Winter Garden is home ice to the High School Hockey Programs of both Ridgefield & Wilton with the Ridgefield Varsity girls a proud new addition to the rink. Winter Garden management appreciates the support from all neighboring towns, and attempts to design programming which is accessible to everyone. In such small communities, we are fortunate to be able to share such a wonderful resource!
